What's new in v0.7.0
Released October 12, 2026
Updated the sensor's measurement filter parameters for more dependable readings, especially at longer ranges.
Previous releases
v0.6.1October 7, 2026
Updates are easier to spot and quicker to install. When a new version of the Configurator, or new firmware for the connected sensor, is available, the app now asks you in a pop-up instead of a banner. Choose Update Firmware and it downloads, checks and installs the new firmware right there, with a progress bar. The Firmware tab is simpler too: one box shows whether the sensor is up to date and updates it in one step, and a second box installs a firmware file you were given.
v0.6.0October 6, 2026
The sensor now connects to whatever you plug into it, whenever you plug it in, and its readings on dark and difficult liquids are steadier. Connect a PC and the Configurator finds the sensor within a few seconds, with no need to catch it in its first minute after power-up; insert a USB drive and data logging starts just as quickly, and you can swap between the two without power-cycling. The sensor also recognises foam: the status LED shows Red → Cyan, and the reading follows the top of the foam unless you choose otherwise.
- **Foam → Error Output:** a new setting in the Configurator that drives the output to its error level while foam is present, for systems that should not act on a foam reading.
- **Share settings as a file:** export a sensor's configuration as a
.tlvfile and import it onto another sensor, no account needed. The file never carries a sensor's own calibration. - **Safer saving:** a setting saved as the power drops can no longer leave the sensor with a half-written configuration.
- **Signed firmware:** firmware is now digitally signed by Flatrock Systems. Sensors built from this release on only start signed firmware; sensors you already have keep updating exactly as before.
- **Configurator updates:** the Configurator's built-in update now downloads and installs correctly.
- If the sensor is connected to a PC that goes to sleep, it may drop off and reappear on its own when the PC wakes. Nothing is lost; it reconnects automatically.
v0.5.0August 6, 2026
This one is mostly under the hood: the sensor now identifies itself to your computer with an officially registered USB identity instead of the placeholder it used before. There is nothing you need to do, and day-to-day use is unchanged. Sensors already in the field keep working — the Configurator recognises both the new identity and the older one, so a unit you bought earlier is still found, still configurable, and can still be updated.
- The first time you plug in a sensor running this firmware, Windows treats it as a new device and may give it a different COM port number than before. That is expected, it happens once, and the Configurator finds the sensor either way.
v0.4.0July 29, 2026
Set a sensor up once, then apply the same configuration to the next one: v0.4.0 adds named profiles, saved to your account and available on any machine you sign in from. Readings are steadier — the sensor watches a wider area and holds on to a target that is partly blocked instead of dropping it — and when it genuinely cannot see the surface, it now reports a fault rather than repeating its last good reading.
- Save a sensor's configuration as a named profile and apply it to another sensor. Sign in with Google to keep your profiles across machines; they stay editable offline and sync when you reconnect.
- The sensor keeps a fault history you can read from the terminal, and you can clear it — and the stored calibration — without special tools.
- Firmware update status now sits on the Firmware page and in the connection bar, next to the button that acts on it.
- Save the whole terminal console to a file, so a capture can go to support without copying thousands of lines by hand.
- A new Flatrock look throughout the app, installer, and both documents.
